What are your acquisition strategies and what products are you looking for?
The DIGI group is a significant telecommunication company in Central Europe which is located (as well as Hungary) in Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. Our Hungarian subsidiary company was founded in 2000 by merging 6 smaller digital TV companies. The biggest break-through in our company's history, besides our triple-play services (digital TV, internet and telephone 3 in 1), was launching the satellite DIGI services.
In 2009 we created our own thematic TV channels: DIGI Sport, Music Channel and H!T Music Channel and in March 2011 we started DIGI Sport Plus.
Due to the increasingly prestigious sports rights and the various magazine shows – through DIGI customers and about 150 other digital TV suppliers - we are currently presented in approximately 1,400,000 households.
Can you tell us about activities of DIGI Sport and DIGI Sport Plus?
Both channels possess main sports broadcasting rights, which help us to easily define DIGI Sports' target audience, since all kind of sports can be found here. In addition, our self-produced shows and most of our sports events are broadcast in HD quality.
The viewers can choose from a wide selection of programmes on DIGI Sport channels, UEFA Champions League or Barclays Premier League derby, a fantastic Moto GP Race, a NCAA College Basketball match, a Diamond League Athletic competition or Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship.
Beyond acquiring the above broadcast rights, DIGI Sport emphasises the broadcast of Hungarian-related sport events as well. We have exclusivity in broadcasting Pick Szeged and MKB Veszprém teams in Velux EHF Men's Handball Champions League and also Győri Audi ETO KC team in EHF Women's Handball Champions League.
Thanks to the doubled airtime since March 2011 – besides the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europe League, Barclays Premier League, TIM Serie A, Ligue 1 and Liga Zon Sagres Football Champions matches - we are also able to broadcast other important sport events, programmes and self-produced shows. With these programmes we offer wider opportunities to our clients to reach their target audience cost-effectively in a premium environment. |
